High School Reunion

Today I met with some friends that I went to high school with... Jenny is Korean and has led a very exciting life! She went to NYU to school and lived in New York up until she married a Greek med student who swept her away to Boston. She is a writer and has her third book coming out this year. Letitia is a lawyer who also has her CPA. We have been close friends with her and her husband Russ and have traveled a lot together over the years.

Back in the days, both of these girls were pretty crazy-- so that is what made today so interesting.... Tish (Letitia) had a 6 week-old little girl and I have Luke now. It was hilarious to be sitting around catching up on topics I never thought we would be discussing-- especially thinking back to our high school days when the topics were boys, fashion, movies, books, etc.... There is still much talk on fashion, movies, and books, but now we are all happily married with children-- (Jenny has a dog named Wendell!)
It is neat to see how our lives continue to take shape especially now that Tish and I are mothers.

It is fun to have days like this where you can step outside yourself for a moment and truly think about how far you have come-- from a selfish, self-absorbed teen/college student, to a care-free twenty-something, to a responsible, mortgage paying, parent! Old friends are good at reminding you of where you've been and how much you have grown. Scott and I are both blessed to have great friends.

Luke was a perfect angel today as usual. He slept a little on the way out there, in his seat once we arrived and on the way home, but he still needs to go down for a good nap this afternoon. Praise the Lord he is a flexible kid! I am truly blessed that he is so agreeable!

you ARE blessed---but he's simply a chip off two really good blocks. I love stories of friendship. There are erally only a handful of people I keep up with from pre-college days. Those types of lasting friendships are rare. Can you believe we've all known each other for 8 years? Back in High School we would ahv thought that was an eternity!
